In the not too distant past, my friend and fellow blogger, Ellen Gregory nominated me for the Sunshine Award. Many thanks to Ellen for the thoughtful nod to me and the kasbah. In accepting the award, I must adhere to the following rules:
- Include the award’s logo in a post or on your blog. (check)
- Link to the person who nominated you. (check)
- Answer the given 10 questions about yourself. (see below)
Favorite Color: That depends. I’m not very good with the superlative-type of questions (my favorite/best/worst, etc.) because I like being able to change my mind as it suits me. Also, I like color combinations more than individual colors. But for argument’s sake, I’ll commit to saying today’s favorite color is blue. And not just regular ol’ blue. A rich, smoky turquoise.
Favorite Animal: This might be a tad unfair to all the other wonderful animals out there that I haven’t been owned by, but I’ll say it anyway: my favorite animal at the moment is a cat. I guess that’s what happens when you’ve spent your entire adult life being owned by them.

Favorite Number: Today I’m partial to the numbers 7 and 8. Enough said.
Favorite Non-alcoholic drink: Coffee, coffee, coffee. I think Lorelai explains it best:
Favorite Alcoholic Drink: Again, this is entirely contingent upon my mood at the time said drink is poured. At the top of my drinks list and in no particular order: Cabernet Sauvignon and Pinot Noir for red wines, Sauvignon Blanc for the whites, an Old Fashioned on the days that call for whiskey, and either a Mojito or an Old Estonian Spritz when a crisp, refreshing beverage is needed.
Facebook or Twitter?: Facebook, by far. It just feels more interactive and allows to me to connect with a lot of people who I know both in person and online. Plus, it takes me FOREVER to whittle my tweets down into the allotted character limit. That said, I do see the merits of Twitter and enjoy reading through some of the different threads that I follow. YA author Maureen Johnson is tremendously prolific on Twitter and is entertaining and hilarious to follow.
Passions: Family, friends, writing, reading, traveling the world, photography, good food, music, and experiencing life as fully as possible.
Prefer Getting or Giving Presents; Giving, definitely. There are few things that give me greater joy than finding that perfect gift for someone and seeing their face light up when they open it.
Favorite City: This is like asking me to pick a favorite book. I simply can’t pick just one. And there are so many I haven’t visited yet that my list of favorites is nowhere near complete. Cities I would jump at the chance to visit again include New York City, New Orleans, London, Paris, Fez, and Venice.

Favorite T.V. shows: I’m currently working my way through all the seasons of Dexter and am loving it. It was a show I put off watching for a long time because I thought it was going to be far more gory than it really is. Also included in my collection of faves: Six Feet Under, Mad Men, Gilmore Girls, Arrested Development, Modern Family, and of course, Sherlock.
