Wednesday’s Would You Rather Question: Alexandria or Atlantis?

As always, the clever readers of the kasbah answered last week’s question with panache and creativity. As it turned out, Jim Carrey and Morgan Freeman each received an equal number of votes to narrate the lives of those kasbah readers who commented. Then there were the rebels – a couple of kasbah readers who didn’t want to choose one or the other so they opted for both men to narrate their life, citing a need for both the serious and the silly when discussing their lives. And no post in the kasbah would be complete without a brief mention of a certain classy British actor who received a vote without even trying.

If that’s not some serious talent, I don’t know what is.

I’ll admit, as I did in the comments, that I thought about tossing Benedict’s name in the ring as one of the choices for narrator, but I feared that the other person pitted against him wouldn’t get even one measly vote. So, in the interest of keeping things fair, I left him out of what could have been his finest victory.

You’re welcome, other person who was almost put in a no-win contest but then saved from what would have certainly been abject humiliation.

So, to recap, if a certain classy British actor were available to narrate my sometimes overly eventful, crazy life, I’d definitely choose him. If I were to be more of a purist and restrict myself to the two choices presented last week, I’d have to go with Jim Carrey. Why? It’s all about the voices and impersonations. Also, I’d bet he could do Morgan Freeman’s voice in a heartbeat if asked. It’s like getting two choices in one.

I daresay, you clever lot are rubbing off on me. Bravo.
